Thanks for the info.  It's hard to tell what's causing it at this
stage...

Were you resizing or checking?  Do you get the same message if you
use the Parted "check" command?  If you were resizing, how far
through the resize did you get?  (The progress meter?  How much time?)

Have you tried running scandisk?  (This error might occur if there
is some corruption)
