Thanks for that.  I missed the reference to a patch in all the noise 
about 'its intolerable.  I also missed it somehow while grovelling in 
the cvs.  Now that I look again, it appears that Apple merged the code 
to their branch on April 26th.  That is few days after I pulled off my 
code.  I will try again with a more recent version.
