Hi Keith,

I did not mean to cause any offence by my signature. As you suggest, it is a
corporate policy that requires the signature be appended by default to all
emails; however it is enforced on the client and so I do have the capability
to remove it manually.

Personally speaking, I also believe that email disclaimers are unnecessary
for most commercial email accounts. I was just a little surprised by your
response as I have been involved in a number of open-source projects over
the past 3 years and this is the first complaint I've received over all that
time.

I don't know whether this is just your personal opinion, or the general
opinion of the list, but if most of the list members feel strongly about it,
then perhaps it's worth making a note on the lists page? I do apologise if I
have offended people (and I don't want to start a flame war), but I am happy
to oblige with list etiquette where possible, and have removed the signature
from my last couple of posts as requested.

Kind regards,

Mark.
