The only method of distribution from MinGW at the moment is with the windows
installer.  The only registry entry is from the installer itself for the remove
package information.  One of the personal goals was to remove the requirement
on the registry which Cygwin requires.  The file system mount point simulation
is handled via an /etc/fstab file.  See the documentation delivered with MSYS
and the http://www.mingw.org/MinGWiki for more information.
