Oh yeah, that was dumb. That's part of the unfinished bit.
At read.c:2132 add an if (dep) around the two indirections of the dep
pointer.
After this I get 1 failure in 1 test, in general/misc4 which I think is
something I added. I'll look at this.
See if your system works again after this change.
