% libtoolize --force --copy
cat: aclocal.m4: No such file or directory

libtoolize: copying file `./config.sub'
libtoolize: copying file `./ltmain.sh'
libtoolize: copying file `./libtool.m4'

It can't run autoconf --trace, and needs to see whether libltdl is
used, where the macro directory is etc. I think it is okay to look
in aclocal.m4 if it is there, I just hadn't discarded the error
message properly until libtool--devo--1.0--patch-44.
