I don't know of any plans on this. The main problem is that generics, as the entire Framekwork 2.0, is at beta, so anything done today, microsoft can change tommorow. Anyway, you can first try to symlink gmcs to mcs, maybe that works!? If not, and you decide to patch MD, I think you would need to "clone" most of the already done work, and patch the parser to support generics, and other gmcs features. So it would be a medium size task, but you can always count that, provided some initial code and guide lines, there will be people helping you out.
