Trouble making Gtk-Perl-0.7008

Hello all,
I am a newbie at all things perl, so please forgive me if I am asking a 
dumb question, but I can't install Gtk-Perl-0.7008.
I've installed (stable.tar.gz from CPAN) perl 5.6.1 and recompiled 
packages Storable, Event and a couple of others. I still get the same 
error message when reaching xs/GnomeDEntryEdit.c:

GnomeDEntryEdit.xs: In function 
`XS_Gtk__Notebook_nome_dentry_edit_new_notebook':
GnomeDEntryEdit.xs:23: too many arguments to function 
`gnome_dentry_edit_new'

Can anyone help me on this ?
