Subject: Re: WinGaim on ICQ

It's worth noting, for those not aware, that there's some rtf code in the novell protocol, although last time I looked, it appeared to be in one direction only, and mostly stripping things out and handling character set issues and stuff. If I was going to implement icq's rtf (which I thought about at one time, but doubt I'll ever get to), I'd start with the novell code, move it to the core, make it support more stuff, and try to make icq use it. Even figuring out the right packet to send rtf over oscar/icq will probably be surprisingly complicated.

There's a few open source rtf implementations already, mostly in C++, in stuff like open office, abiword, mozilla.
