Usually this means what it seems to mean, however if an AIM user has privacy settings where no one except those on his buddy list can see him, then you might see this message when trying to IM him. I don't know if regular blocking does this or not.

Hi!
I recently learned about gaim for the first time, and downloaded it. However, when trying to use it, I keep on getting the error "Unable to send message: Not logged in". I was wondering what this means. The person who I'm IMing to is signed on, she was trying to IM me too, but it didn't go through. I was signed in on AIM at this time. Please advise as soon as possible! Many thanks!
Isi
