Palm sync error - charater encoding problem?

I have a problem which I suppose is well known but I have not found a
solution to it. Of course I wonders if there is one...

I run Fedora core 2 and Evolution 1.4.6. My "LANG"-variable is set to
sv_SE.UTF-8.

I have a Palm Vx and use swedish characters sometimes (å, ä and ö). When
I try to sync my Palm with Evolution gpilot often crash and they don't
sync.

I am able to sync with jpilot and the swedish characters are correct if
I specify keytable "host utf-8 <-> palm 1250 (ee)" in the proferences.

Please ask for more info if needed.
