BTW, what actually is a gtk engine?

Basically, it's the code that draws the gtk widgets onto the screen.

If you want a theme that looks sufficiently different to gtk's default appearance that it can't be achieved just by changing icons or tweaking other parameters in a gtkrc file, you can write your own engine to draw things differently, e.g. to have gradient shading on buttons or that sort of thing.

Recruiting through our documentation

I'd like to get a new section into the GNOME User Guide in time for 2.14.1, on Getting involved with GNOME. For 2.15, the plan is to fold in the Feedback documentation too [1]. I'm sure there's plenty of material on this sort of thing already written. Could someone point me to stuff that I can copy or adapt for this? (Alternatively, if anyone wants to write this themselves, please do!) [1] http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335968 ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
