Yes, you can convert from sqlite2 to sqlite3

cd .gnome2/f-spot
sqlite photos.db .dump|sqlite3 out.db
mv photos.db photos.db.backup
mv out.db photos.db

1) Turn of Write Metadata to pictures.
2) Tagg all pictures with a dummy tag.
3) Turn on Write Metadata to pictures.
4) Remove the dummy tag from all pictures.
5) Coffee break
