Compaisions with galeon 1.2

Hi all,

I had been using galeon 1.2 quite happily for many years. Recently
the version in Debian testing went from 1.2 to 1.3 which AFAIAC
is a rather nasty downgrade :-(.

I therefore went looking for another browser and found epiphany
as well as finding out about the split that caused the start of
epiphany.

I have now loaded at mozilla-firefox, galeon 1.3 and epiphany and
I don't really feel any of them measure up to galeon 1.2 although
epiphany seems the closest.

What I see as missing is (based on using epihpany 1.0.6):

  - something like "myportal://" in galeon
  - the ability of setting "myportal://" as my startup page
  - more finely grained handling of cookies (like galeon 1.2)
  - the ability to remember pages loaded in each tab between
    sessions
  - the zoom control

Are any of these features like to be added in the future? If 
epiphany forked off from the galeon code base, why were these
features ever removed?
