Think also that it would be a good idea at some stage to incorporate
polygons into the native "OSM" format. These could incorporate nodes eg.
<polygon uid=".." tags="...">
<node uid=".." tags=".." />
<node uid=".." tags=".." />
</polygon>
etc.
