 I have reproduced the gdb-6.1 problem reported in GNATS PR1614
 on a Solaris 9 machine with gcc-3.3.3 and ncurses-5.4
 
 I do not have this problem on Solaris 9 with gcc-3.3.1 and ncurses-5.2.
