Have to agree with Steve here.

I have always understood the rule to say that the *first* shot of any
vehicular weapon *must* apply all Case A DRM.

In the case presented, the first shot of the MG would get the +2, but
the first shot of the MA would not only get the +2, but the extra +1, as
well. I'd even go so far as to extend that to say that if the second
"shot" was with a different MG, that a third shot, requiring another
two-spine change, would need to be at +5 (2+1+2), even though a player
would *never* spin his TCA/VCA more than three hex clicks in either
direction under normal circumstances.

Now, before folks get all hacked off at Perry, I've been in the "big
chair" and it's sometimes hard to answer rules questions from one game
when you're in the middle of playing another. Don't care how long
Perry's been doing it, it's not as easy as players think it is ...
shifting the focus on a heavy-metal ETO clash, for example, to answer
questions about a combined-arms contest in the DTO.

But Steve is right ... Perry's "answer" would be super sleazy ... and I
surely hope he'll consider an official "retraction" of his decision here
before this ruling becomes de rigeur.
