unknown client

FreeRADIUS 0.8.1 on FreeBSD 4.8-RC1. Proxy only.

We've been getting the following everytime an enduser logs in and
authenticates on a particular customers auth server (designated
aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd):

Sat Jun 28 15:11:50 2003 : Error: Trying to look up name of unknown client
aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd.
Sat Jun 28 15:11:50 2003 : Proxy: No matching request was found for proxy
reply from server UNKNOWN-CLIENT:1646 - ID 57

Digging through logs shows the two entries are related. The client is in
the proxy.conf file, auth port is 1645 and acctg port is 1646. The IP
resolves properly as does the hostname. The IP and hostname both ping and
traceroute with no problem. The enduser auths with no problem, and
accounting info is getting writteen to the MySQL database. No other auth
client is exhibiting this behavior. We had a similar problem wwith another
customer, but their dns was hosed. Once that was fixed, there were no
other instances.

Anybody have any ideas?
