Xaw is used by MANY MANY applications - even new ones - and has become more or less a (de facto) "industry standard". All X vendors ship it and will likely ship it in the next ten or more years - removing it from the base X11 library distribution will only cause (unneccesary) trouble. And remeber that (nearly) _all_ X11 (diagnostics) tools with a GUI are based on Xaw - what would you offer as replacement ? And what will happen to applications like "xdm", "xterm" or the X11 test suite ? ---- Bye, Roland -- __ . . __ (o.\ \/ /.o) roland.mainz-QtDJSZoAcjhAfugRpC6u6w@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx \__\/\/__/ MPEG specialist, C&&JAVA&&Sun&&Unix programmer /O /==\ O\ TEL +49 641 7950090 (;O/ \/ \O;) |
