I use ttx sometimes. If it blows up I know there is either a bug in FF
or in ttx.
Adobe has a font checker in their AFDKO called spot. Spot is documented
to have problems with Mark tables, so again if spot crashes it means
there is either a bug in spot or ff.

I have a low opinion of most OpenType tools (including my own)

In the fonts I tested, the Mac was willing to install them, and they
worked, but it just complained about them (I think erroneously). Does
Junicode actually fail to install? Or are people just so worried by the
comment that they don't even try to use it?

Problem while editing .ttf file

Hello,     I am facing problem while editing Kedage-n.ttf, Kannada (Indic) Language font file using fontforge. I am just opening the font file and generating font without actually making any modifications to the font. But, the newly created font is not able to render some characters properly. e.g, ka + halant was rendered properly with original font, but the newly generated font is not able to render this character properly. What does it mean, any tables or rules are getting deleted? Please see the attached file.     I am using fontforge version 20051205, Ubuntu (Dapper Drake) Linux with Pango (1.5.0) rendering engine. I tried with some 2006 version of fontforge also. But no luck. Please help me. Thanks and Regards, Vignesh ka_halant.png Description: PNG image ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash. Font Book does not allow to install Junicode-BoldItalic, neither as this single font nor as a family member. Linotype FontExplorer X shows a behaviour I don't understand, but it does not care about Junicode-BoldItalic's tables. It works to drag the font files into the personal or system wide Fonts folder and it works to use Junicode-BoldItalic in TextEdit. Are the (missing) tables that otfinfo did not find so meaningless? -- Greetings Pete War springs from unseen and generally insignificant causes. -- Anonymous ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
