Re: hinting lost on generating ttf

Answering my own questions... Sorry about the noise but I guess I should 
clarify in case someone else reads this thread and doesn't find the 
conclusion..

It appears that even opentype truetype (.ttf) files can only be quadratic.

Given the above information, it also appears that every time a .ttf font is 
generated, fontforge is automagically doing a quadratic conversion. Thus no 
hinting will be preserved.

In this case it seems that it is due to references existing and the particular 
entries not getting their own hints so they will always be highlighted as 
needing hinting.
