Of course. That's the definition of the truetype font format.

?Only if you start out with a cubic font.
I have suggested to you several times that you convert the font to quadratic
within fontforge.

Perhaps you have preferences set to read quadratic fonts in as cubic. This is
generally a bad idea. I suggest you unset "LoadedFontsAsNew"
