There's also the issue that there may be a quota on users' home directories, so if the log were to continually grow (and the user didn't know to delete it from time to time), it could cause problems. Perhaps you could create a /var/log/sfs/agent.log or something? Or if you were to invest effort and try to be fancy, you might be able to create set of log files /var/log/sfs/agent/username which are only readable by that user... I have no idea how to do this, or how hard it would be to do so, but since I imagine for security reasons you wouldn't want other users to be able to read one user's sfsagent log (but that user might need to, in order to debug problems?), this might be the best solution (at least that I can think of...). -- David Roundy http://civet.berkeley.edu/droundy/ |
