Thanks for your reply. I am using Centos with kernel 2.6.9-42.

Since my rpmbuild is not generating debuginfo, is there any other way I could debug lustre?

That really depends on the distro you are building under.  Some generate
-debuginfo, and some do not.  It is a function of "rpmbuild" and/or local
config I think, never looked into it much.
