[sshfs] sshfs idmap: msg#00027file-systems.fuse.sshfs
Hi, I'm using sshfs in conjunction with autofs. Unfortunately, this means that the mounting user is always root. In this context, the idmap option is, unfortunately, grossly inadequate. It can at most translate remote_id to local_root (which is worse than no translation at all). Why not allow an idmap=MAP_FILE argument? Oh yeah: other than this, sshfs is awesome and has solved my needs quite nicely. But running it from autofs sucks (or maybe I'm missing something...) Another option seems to be using afuse. That package, however, has a weird dependency on pkg-config (the author probably assumed that it's OK to impose that on everybody) which makes it hard to build on Fedora. -- Dan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
