Subject: Re: Unsupported NetKey card

Hello,

I didn't get the answer from my previous mail because I did
not subscribe to the list (but now I am).

I answer to Andreas :
http://www.opensc-project.org/pipermail/opensc-user/2006-May/000993.html

I added the following lines to my /etc/opensc.conf :

card_atr
3b:ba:95:00:81:b1:86:5d:1f:43:00:64:04:5c:02:03:31:80:90:00:84 {
driver = tcos;
}

And here are the results :

$ opensc-tool -a
3b:ba:95:00:81:b1:86:5d:1f:43:00:64:04:5c:02:03:31:80:90:00:84
card.c:228:sc_transceive: Unable to transmit: Generic reader error
card.c:263:sc_transmit_apdu: transceive() failed: Generic
reader error
card-tcos.c:490:hacked_iso7816_select_file: APDU transmit
failed: Generic reader error
card.c:763:sc_select_file: returning with: Generic reader error

What are the errors after the ATR ? Should I care about these ?

Moreover, I decoded the ATR, and found something strange :

TS = 3B (direct convention)
T = BA
Y1 : TA1 = 1, TB1 = 1, TC1 = 0, TD1 = 1
K = 0A (10 historical characters)
TA1 = 95
TB1 = 00
TD1 = 81
Y2 : TA2 = 0, TB2 = 0, TC2 = 0, TD2 = 1
T = 1
TD2 = B1
Y3 : TA3 = 1, TB3 = 1, TC3 = 0, TD3 = 1
T = 1
TA3 = 86
TB3 = 5D
TD3 = 1F
Y4 : TA4 = 1, TB4 = 0, TC4 = 0, TD4 = 0
T = F
TA4 = 43
T1..T10 = 00 64 04 5C 02 03 31 80 90 00
TCK = 84

The TA4 is not followed by a TD4. According to
http://www.cozmanova.com/content/view/18/27/ the TD are
required when a TA, TB or TC is present.

I tried to read the ATR of my french electronic wallet (a
"moneo" card) an succeed :

$ opensc-tool -a -n
3b:66:00:00:19:08:00:00:29:b1
EMV compatible cards
iso7816.c:98:iso7816_check_sw: Function not supported
iso7816.c:440:iso7816_select_file: returning with: Card does
not support the requested operation
card.c:763:sc_select_file: returning with: Card does not
support the requested operation

But, with a german prepaid phone card, I did not succeed : I
get an invalid ATR (bb f4 ea 53), maybe is it not an iso7816
card ?

I am new in this area, so I would appreciate any advice about
books or documentation (I tried to get the ISO norms, but they
are too expensive).

Thanks for your answer.
