Re: Cashmouse support of Linux: msg#00013encryption.opensc.user
ah, sorry. I had a cashmouse with me, but explained to everyone who asked: this is a brick. the manufacturer refuses to give any details about it, so there is no way we can write a driver :( > http://www.eng.utah.edu/~sdean/doc/PinpadReaders.html that says that > the usb version of the Cashmouse works under Windows with opensc. > > The Cashmouse models for the serial port are very cheap (I know two > shops that sell them for about 40 Euros) and so just choosing another > model would be a expensive option. geldkarte.de sells them for 20 euro. and a friend of mine wants to get rid of his. not sure - I think he tried it on windows and didn't get it to work. but if someone gets it to work on windows, maybe that is enough to write a linux driver? (ok, we would need to sniff the serial port, and I have no clue how to do that, but I'm sure someone out there can help us with that.) but of course the problem is also finding time, and right now I have several readers where the vendor would support writing a driver, so they come first.
