Subject: plans for new openct release

Hi,

I went to all changes in HEAD and came up with this list:
New in 0.6.4; not yet released
* improved usb code for bsd
* improved usb code for solaris
* require automake 1.5
* on darwin link with -Wl,-framework,CoreFoundation
* configure code cleanup (use AC_HELP_STRING etc.)
* implement protocol selection, improved command checking
* ccid update with some cleanups.
* improved t=1 protocoll code.
* improved and fixed remote socket code.
* increased library version to 1.0.0 (incompatible with 0.*.* versions)

I think we are incompatible with older versions, but I'm not 100% sure.
if anyone wants to check this in depth, please tell me if I'm right or
wrong. the safe default is to increase the library version.

Note: the version of the software (0.6.4rc1 or so) and the library
versions are unrelated. for example debian has a package
libgnomeprint15_0.37-5_i386.deb, i.e. those developers changed the
library 15 times in an incompatible way on the road to version 0.37.

Anything else that should go into 0.6.4rc1? Note: I haven't done
any testing so far, but would like to create that first release
candidate and start testing soon.

Regards, Andreas
