I'll skip the dictionary, but thanks anyway. Hercules can move data from the same type of memory to the same type of memory. Hercules uses dozens of assembler instruction that emulate MVC, MVCL, MVPG, and others to do just that. If the patent says that if a single instruction can move memory from same to same is covered, then many instructions prior to mvpg would be covered. If the patent says that one instruction must be able to move both to the same or to different, Hercules does not qualify. Hercules just cannot move to different. With my unique logic, please ask me if I can legally run Linux, Hercules, and OS/390 on my 9672. How about IMS, CICS, ISPF, SDSF, etc. Or ask me about zSIE. ------------------------ Yahoo!
