Your lack of both reading comprehension skills and imagination continue to amaze. Not only was I a programmer (I wrote a 200-module Assembler system for Barclays Bank almost single-handed) but I went on to a career as a 'sysprog for hire' that took me into some of the most innovative installations in Europe - including Eternit, the best MVS site on the planet in the late 1970s. I installed the first copy of MVS/SE shipped to Europe. The CIO was Alfred Tauchnitz - chairman of GUIDE at the time - and inspired partly by him I went on to help found the UK's branch of CMG, serving on the committee for seven years and as Vice-Chair one year - all without payment. Wrote SAS for Morino Associates - the Consolidated Index Management component. I still code, BTW, but mostly in REXX these days. Most recently a system to download the .JPGs from my digital camera and store them on the server. Before that a system to read my contacts database out of my Ericsson T39m poserphone and load them into a Nokia Communicator. Build things and play with them? Yup - see http://www.isham- research.com/quattro - the biggest and best FREE Audi quattro assistance site on the planet. Suit? When on business, smart trousers, white (usually short- sleeved) shirts and sweaters. Haven't worn a suit for YEARS. Don't even own one - though I do have a dinner jacket and dress trousers. There's a picture of me on page 45 of October 10's Computer Weekly - note no suit. In fact, I'm known all over the industry for wearing sandals even in winter. Expensive, elegant Italian ones, to be sure, but sandals none the less. Yup - even wore sandals when I met Lou Gerstner and Sam Palmisano. Famous for it, especially at Amdahl. You see? Wrong again. In fact, completely, utterly and totally wrong about me from start to finish. Getting so carried away by your own prejudices - now THAT is truly sad. ------------------------ Yahoo!
