NE2000 problem: msg#00101

Subject: NE2000 problem

I am using FreeDOS 8 with Bochs on a Win2k machine and installed the Arachne
browser (mainly because of curiousity). There is a NE2000 driver which comes
with the browser and it seems to detect the network adapter correctly. But
when I try to connect to a website, I get the following error from the Bochs
console:
[ETH-WIN32] Error sending packet: 31

In addition, my personal firewall pops up with an incoming connection from
the gateway machine to port 1025 (task scheduler service). When I permit the
connection the system reboots without warning (could be a nice exploit ;) ).
So something must have been sent even if Bochs says that there was an error.

Could this be caused by FreeDOS/driver, Bochs or even by the host system?
(btw the gateway is running Linux)
