To use ne2k, Bochs needs to run as a privileged user. I typically type 'sudo bochs' but that's a security hole. -DG

Hi All,
I'm very new to Bochs and Linux and I think this is possible more of a
Linux problem but I hope some of you have come across this problem
before.

I'm running an up to date version of SuSE with the KDE 3.1 and the 2.1
rpm of Bochs

I'm running a Windows98 simulation in Bochs and it work great and when I
try to turn the network card on with these settings:

ne2k: ioaddr=0x280, irq=9, mac=b0:c4:20:00:00:00, ethmod=linux,
ethdev=eth0

I get these errors

00000000000i[PLGIN] init_dev of 'ne2k' plugin device by virtual method
00000000000i[NE2K ] port 0x280/32 irq 9 mac b0:c4:20:00:00:00
00000000000p[NE2K ] >>PANIC<< eth_linux: could not open socket:
Operation not permitted

Hope you guys can help it's really got me stumped

All The Best, Sam Hennessy
