win98 on cvs - Error with cpuid code

With the current cvs trying to load my windows 98 image gives the following 
error:

Event type: PANIC
Device: [CPU0 ]
Message: RDMSR: Unknown register 0x17

if I continue then windows reports:

While initializing device CONFIGMG:
Windows protection error.  You need to restarat your computer

Any hints?
