I know people like folding, but I prefer an interface to speedbar.

Another important feature is id/idref management; psgml lacks it (an
old patch by Matthias Clasen(?) exists, though).  reftex.el is a very
useful tool for TeX like files for managing references; reftex.el also
generates TOCs and that's why I don't need folding for LaTeX files.
