Sticky modifier keys

With XEmacs the following is said to make modifier keys sticky: (setq  
modifier-keys-are-sticky t).  I am curious whether it is possible to  
do something along those lines with Aquamacs.  I am aware that OS X  
allows one to set sticky modifiers, but I do not want that setting  
system-wide, only in Aquamacs.  Is it possible?
