Subject: Re: Problem with Alt key

Hi Thomas

I did what you wrote and it works but ... Command Key now is not META Key.

I've changed my customizations.el and Alt behaviour is normal, but to use Meta key, I had to use ESC. I'd like to use command key as META.

I've set up Menu Options > Option Key as Meta Key, but it doesn't work and If I quit Emacs, customization.el file is changed. So I have to change it again.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks
Cesáreo

Hi Alex

Sorry about the mess with my former message.

I have set up Option Key as Meta Key, but to do M-x I have to do ALT - x so, I don't know where to tell Aquaemacs:

- Use Command Key as Meta Key ( I did that via menu)
- Keep Alt behaviour as normal, so Alt - 3 must be #

Hi Cesareo,

I just tried it. Go to the Menu Options > Option Key as Meta and
remove the label from the entry "Option key for meta ... "

After saving the options, my file customizations.el contains
the lines

'(mac-command-modifier (quote meta))
'(mac-option-modifier nil)

as arguments of custom-set-variables.

The only difficulty remaining is:

After quitting Aquamacs and then starting, the entry "Option key for meta ... "
is again labelled. You must remove it. I do not know whether it is
a bug or feature of Aquamacs.
