Subject: Problem with Alt key

Hi,
first of all, please, do not respond to an existing message when creating a new post to the list. Your message will get mixed in with the original thread by many email apps and causes a mess for automatic sorting.

Regarding your problem:
what is your Meta-key? If your Meta-key is the Alt key you may want to check your emacs distribution for ways to activate certain key combinations that allow you to nevertheless use Alt in combination with some other keys without getting the Meta-function (easy in Aquamacs - not sure about other distributions)

Hi!

I had a problem inserting some chars in Emacs, for example # or [

I had no problems with á or é so I think it's not a text coding problem. I had an external keyboard, but I even try with macBook keyboard and the problem remains.

It seems to be a problem with Alt key, but I don't know how to solve it.

Any idea?

Thanks
Cesáreo
