Thanks for picking up my little hack and fixing all the loose ends. I still believe that exposing the Mac Unicode APIs via something like mac-code-convert-string in the Mac version of Emacs.app ultimately is the right way to handle the NFD abomination of Mac HFS+, but this new version of utf-8m.el will serve us well until that happens. (I'd also like to know how to reconcile this with composite.el...)
