How can I set a monospaced font? Would be more useful for

Options -> "Show Fonts".
By the way - the font is monospaced by default, except for text
modes - in which you shouldn't be editing programs!
Problem is that proportional fonts don't display well in Japanese for
ex. I've tried the default settings for a number of emacs-carbon
versions and I always end up putting a monospace font for
_everything_ because the display of Japanese is positively ugly in
proportional.
