Re: Please set me straight on user talk/discussion pages

Hello Declan, you are not the only one to be a bit put off by the discussion
pages using technology that is called Liquid Threads. Brent has also
expressed irritation with it, as well as a few bugs, I'm in two minds about
it. It is useful for people who are used to threaded forums, but irritating
for those used to the no frills wikiedit tradition. As you point out, the
actual article pages require trad wikitext, why not the discussion pages? I
am bothered by the loss of control over the layout of the discussion page -
often we use the discussion page of our developments as a kind of
documentation.. the LT puts a bit of a spanner in that idea.

I would second the third motion for enabling an option to turn LT off on
some pages, or in user preferences.. if that is at all possible.
