Declan: There may be a way to get something like this going; take a look at this template: http://www.wikieducator.org/Template:Dashboard_L4C and also this: http://www.wikieducator.org/Template:PageProgress it uses a template variable to stretch a table cell with a background colour in it, so that you get a kind of a bar graph thing going on. Might also be worth taking a quick look at this project on Wikiversity: http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Bloom_clock brent.
