Subject: ? Repairing library shelving

I've been notified that my library move to our new space has been pushed back, and now I'm wondering what to do about the state of our current shelving (wood shelving which is 30 years old). Many of the shelves have brackets which are bending due to warped shelves, and are starting to pull away from the sides of the shelves.

I'm trying to figure out what to do in the interim, as they were planning to purchase new shelving when we move, but now that we're not moving right away I need a temporary solution. Has anyone else run into this problem and found a workable (and not too expensive) solution? I'm guessing that replacing the boards that are warped will be expensive and a headache to off-load the journals. I just wanted to get a feel for what someone else has come up with before I address the problem with our maintenance department.

I'll be happy to summarize for the list.

Thx,
