The high state of technological awareness in Korea coupled with its rich and distinctive heritage would make Seoul the ideal location for a session of this kind. Proposals are invited for papers describing emerging technologies in this field that deserve wider exposure and discussion by librarians, including: - XML search engines - natural language processing - faceted searching Please send a detailed abstract (1 page or at least 300 words) of the proposed paper (must not have been published elsewhere) and relevant biographical information of author(s)/presenter(s), by 1st March 2005, via email to: Hanna de Vries deVries-vNipb5/TJXyEVqv0pETR8A@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Standing Committees of the two Sections. Successful proposals will be identified by 15th March 2006. Full papers will be due by 15 April 2006 to allow time for review of papers and preparation of translations; each full paper must be an original submission not published elsewhere, and no more than 20 double spaced A4 pages in length. The paper should be in one of the IFLA languages (English, French, German, Spanish or Russian). At least one of the paper’s Authors must undertake to be present to present a summary of the paper (some 20 minutes) during the Section's programme in Seoul.
