Many thanks to David and Mattias both - your suggestions were right on
the money. I went through the front-end configuration settings, and sure
enough, found and fixed the wrong Zebra path. It also seems that I had
neglected to 'chown' all of the Zebra directories so that apache/zebra
could both read and write to them, so that also helped clear things up. :)
And if only I had known about the Debian package beforehand! But alas, I
guess I'll know better for next time..
In any case, most of the errors have disappeared, however attempting to
add a book still gives me some of the same error messages as before.
These are:
YAZ error: 4 (Terms only exclusion (stop) words) (Host:
z3950.libris.kb.se:210/libr) (Query: ... [etc]
YAZ error: 10000 (Connect failed) (Host:
groucho.lib.rochester.edu:7090/voyager) (Query: ... [etc]
YAZ error: 10000 (Connect failed) (Host:
zsrv.library.nwu.edu:11090/voyager) (Query: ... [etc]
I assume that these have something to do with the Z3950 "stuff", but
being a newbie to library managements systems in general, I'm not quite
sure what exactly that is. I mean, I don't know why I should care about
the Z39.50 protocol, nor why my Emilda software is trying to connect to
the three specific servers above. How would I go about investigating the
cause of these error messages? And also, are they even worth worrying
about, if my library's management isn't too worried about
inter-connectivity so long as the system is internally consistent?
Thanks again for all of your help!
Cheers,
- Jeremy Porter

Yes, take a look at Management->Configuration->General
Configuration->ZEBRA Server. Verify that those paths are correct.
