We have been experiencing some issues concerning the CGI module in interaction with perl-5.6.x. If it by any means would be possible for You, I sincerely would suggest that You upgraded to version 5.8.x of Perl. In 5.8 it should work fine.

If You have not the opportunity to perform this upgrade, please let me know, and I'll look into it and see if there is anything I could do.

Thanks for clarification of the problem kind.
I've tried to install perl-5.8.5 from CPAN, but there was an error
(_tty_test or similar), I'll keep fighting or force installation.
Before I install Emilda I was considering a full migration to Debian,
unfortunately I thought that migration will be much more time-consuming
then simple compilation from tarballs. I was wrong.
Debian Gnu/Linux (or PLD) recommended, really. :)

Regards,

If You have the time and resources to migrate to Debian, I can most warmly recommend it. Not only because I think its the the leading distro but also because You get Emilda installed and configured just by typing

apt-get install emilda

I really cannot say anything about Your Perl-error, as I extremely seldomly compile Perl from source. However I really hope that You will get it working.

Regards,
