ASTM Journal of Forensic Sciences Backfiles: msg#00209

Subject: ASTM Journal of Forensic Sciences Backfiles

Greetings,

We are having problems with our remote access to ASTM's Journal of Forensic
Sciences Backfiles. In 2006, JoFS was sold Blackwell, and now in order to
access JoFS Backfiles online (1972-2005), you have to have a separate
subscription with ASTM. We are trying to set this up. Access is working from
on-campus. From off-campus, however, although we are able to conduct
searches and read the ToCs (all publicly-accessible), we get the following
kind of "Unauthorized Access/Location" error when we try to click on the
full-text of an article:

---

AutoLookUp: Unauthorized Access/Location24.27.23.173---- Domain
cpe-24-27-23-173.austin.res.rr.com

---

Our IP ranges are:
206.127.25.1 - 206.127.25.254
209.99.108.1 - 209.99.108.127

The EZProxy cfg information we have entered is:
Title: Journal of Forensic Sciences
URL: http://journalsip.astm.org/jofs/
Domain: http://journalsip.astm.org
Host: http://journalsip.astm.org

An excerpt from the source code of the error page reads:
<!Version 3.0>
<! Validate Activated >
<! No USER, Assume Enterprise >
<! --- nslookup 24.27.23.173 :
--->
<! Domain cpe-24-27-23-173.austin.res.rr.com >
<!All Accounts Scanned, No Grant>
<! --- nslookup 24.27.23.173 :
--->

The folks at ASTM tech support are unsure about the cause of the problem.
Does anyone have a subscription to the JoFS Backfiles that is working (you
can download articles from on- and off-campus) and could possibly give me an
idea of what may be going on here? Or anyone else have an idea?

Thanks,
Liane Luckman
