Subject: Re: Direct linking to audio stream in Naxos - IE problems

Donna, I am having this problem as well. I wonder if it is because I am running version 2.4b of ezproxy.

Will the new configuration for Naxos work with version 2.4b or will I need to upgrade before this will work?

The start page will come up for Naxos, I can pick what I want to listen to but when I click on the play button it can't connect to the stream.
It just keeps saying that it is trying to reconnect.

Can anyone confirm what I am saying? The stream connection is the issue.

Happy Friday

Hi All

I am using the config at UU for Naxos and we don't have any buffering issues. Naxos isn't heavily used here, but none us can remember having these troubles before, though we can't remember the last time we actually did a test, so we're not 100% sure. I don't believe this is EZproxy related. I am hoping that someone may have had similar problems and came up with a fix. What we are currently getting is IE errors when linking directly to an audio stream. This is the first time that we've tried to link directly to an Audio stream that we are aware of. Going through the database front page and selecting a stream to play results in no errors. Is anyone successfully linking directly to audio streams within Naxos?

This is what we are currently experiencing:

From off campus, once you log into EZproxy, Naxos loads the media player and then you get:
The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close this window?

If you click 'no' the audio will play fine.

From on campus, you click the direct link and are directed to the Naxos page, where the media player loads. We then get a Proxy username and password login pop up box. Once you enter the details the audio plays. Now we are also getting the 'The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close this window?' before the proxy login pop up box for on campus access.

Interesting using Firefox on campus gives no errors, you go straight to the stream and it starts playing. Off campus Firefox loads the player with no errors but won't play the audio.

The IT department have been great in trying to sort this out, but we're no closer to a solution yet. We believe the errors only started recently and we and IT are wondering if the moving of our 6 domains into 1 new domain could have resulted in these errors. The proxy login box we believe may be a direct result of the new domain move.

Cheers
Donna
