Student Directed

The business world is taking over.  In educational
institutions the bottom line is becoming the $ sign. 
Educators have become complacent and have allowed the
capitalists to take over.
The next step in Education is student direction, but
there has been little progress in this direction since
the cultural revolution of the '60s.  When student
direction is written into the curricula and lesson
plans of teachers, pedagogy will take its due and
necessary place in the scheme of societies.  Until
then, we can only watch, increasingly sad, as
education, and food, become institutionalized and
aimed at no one in particular.  We must let our
students in on our (and their) lives.  Say no to
departmental exams!  Say no to departmental syllabi!
