Teach new > words, new language in context as it is used in real > life. > > Dick Exactly Dick, couldn't agree more, I use short dialogues but not from grammar books but other sources, for example a short track called 'Soap" on Eminen's first CD has precisely what you are talking about, elisions, contractions and weak forms that they'll never hear either in a formal listening lesson but, more pertinently,will hear in an IELTS listening exam or a conversation between two non-Chinese teachers in their school.
