I did a little of this last semester with sophomore translation majors at the Normal uni where I teach introducing weak forms for the first time and it took weeks to get them to go beyond very careful, and often erroneous, pronunciation as found in the dictionaries to something approaching a more natural rhythm and a more authentic non-Chinese student sound.
